Here we have Lot 75, a fine and rare exhibition quality model of a 7 1/4 inch gauge Great Western Railway Class 47xx 2-8-0 locomotive and tender No 4708. It was built by David Aitken from the original drawings and patterns, based on the original full size engine.

We believe that there are only two 7 1/4 inch gauge example ever built of this locomotive, of which this is one. No full size examples of this locomotive have been saved in preservation. The Great Western Railway (GWR) 4700 Class was a class of nine 2-8-0 steam locomotives designed by George Jackson Churchward. They were introduced in 1919 for heavy mixed traffic work. Although primarily designed for fast freight, the class also sometimes hauled passenger trains, notably heavy holiday expresses in the summer months. These locomotives were often referred to as Night Owls .

We then have Lot 69, a fine exhibition quality model of a 5 inch gauge Britannia Class live steam 4-6-2 locomotive and tender No 70012 'John O'Gaunt'. It was built by the late famous and award winning locomotive builder Mr John Adams of Poole, with drivers seat bearing oval builders plaque JF & G Adams Poole.

The original full size locomotive was built in Crewe in December 1951 and withdrawn from services in December 1967. John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster (6 March 1340 - 3 February 1399) was an English royal prince, military leader, and statesman. He was the third son of King Edward III of England and the father of King Henry IV.

Also built by the late Mr John Adams of Poole, we have Lot 68, a fine exhibition quality model of a 5 inch gauge British Railways Royal Scott 4-6-0 locomotive and tender No 46123 'Royal Irish Fusilier'. 

The original Scott Class was designed and built by Sir Henry Fowler and rebuilt by Sir William Stanier FRS of which this is an example. Often referred to as the 'Re-built Scot' being derived from the LMS Scott Class introduced in 1927 with parallel boiler and single chimney. The original locomotives of this design were finally withdrawn from service in December 1962.

Finally, we take a look at Lot 23, a gold medal winning exhibition ⅕ inch scale model of the 1950's Rolls Royce Derwent Mark 9 turbojet aero engine. With a single stage centrifugal compressor, it was built by Mr John Heeley of Huddersfield from his own research and information taken from the prototype at Newark Aircraft Museum. 

These engines were fitted to the Armstrong-Whitworth Meteor Mk 12. Night Fighter. The engine comes with a set of build photographs in folder and had a four page feature in the specialist publication 'Model Engineer' Vol. 210. No 4450. A copy of The Model Engineer comes with the engine.

This fine model won a gold medal at The Model Engineering Exhibition Class No A3/5 and a 1st Certificate at The National Model Engineering and Modelling Exhibition 2012, as well as winner of the Warco Cup at Harrogate 2012.
